Synopsis
- Árpád Pusztai und Ignacio Chapela haben zwei Dinge gemeinsam: Sie sind bedeutende Wissenschaftler und ihre Karrieren sind ruiniert. Beide Wissenschaftler arbeiten im Bereich der Gentechnik. Beide machten wichtige Entdeckungen. Beide sind gefährdet, weil sie die Mächtigen in Forschung und Industrie kritisieren, die dadurch ihre Investitionen bedroht sehen.
Aussagen von Wissenschaftlern selbst belegen, dass 95% der Forscher im Bereich Gentechnik von der Industrie bezahlt werden. Nur 5% der Forscher sind unabhängig. Die große Gefahr für Meinungsfreiheit und Demokratie ist offensichtlich. Kann die Öffentlichkeit – können wir alle – den Wissenschaftlern noch trauen?
