On the 8.11.1939 the Infanterie Reserve Batailion 118 was sent to Schrimmm (Srem) in Poland just south of Posnan, to act as occupying force.
A German Soldier filmed the loading of the train in Wiesbaden, the journey and the arrival in Schrimm with his N 8 Amateur Film Camera. He filmed the everyday life under german occupation in the small, rural, polish village Schrimm ( Srem). He filmed , the market place, the streets, the people, the Synagogue that was used as a horse stable, the fugitives from other polish cities that passed over the river Warte provisional wooden bridge, built by german pioneers and the old bridge that had been blown up before by the polish army to hinder the german troups to progress. He filmed live in the barracks , forced labourers and peasants in the fields. No atrocities, nothing special, just everyday life in Poland during occupation time just two month after the Germans had invaded Poland.
