Synopsis
- A bittersweet homage to the dying tradition of the cycling postman in Ireland, this is a portrait of Séamus Mulligan, of Gort a' Choirce in the Donegal Gaeltacht. His daily round comprises a 30 mile cycle ride to deliver the mail to 250 houses, passing through some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland. Rain, hail or shine, Séamus delivers post, parcels, news and comment but his era, and that of his like is waning as a new Ireland offers multiple choices for receiving communications. This man is a natural storyteller and his tales are mostly of a rural lifestyle of homely neighbours that is fast disappearing.
