Synopsis
- This film is available in two versions, with English subtitles and with French subtitles
In the early Nineties, thirty years after the African independence in the Sixties, and as the Cold War was coming to an end, heralding dramatic political changes around the world, a generation of young Africans was ready to break with the past. Denouncing the one-party state and its attendant nepotism, corruption and economic failure, they took their anger to the streets and challenged their dictatorial governments.
In a mixture of poetry and irony, Teno accompanies this struggle with a film that mixes past and present, establishing a cause and effect between yesterday’s colonial experience and today’s violence and corruption.
