Digital Rights Fair Trade
17.12.2010
Primarily we don’t rely on the so called Digital-Rights-Management-Systems (DRM), as they turn out to be expensive and inefficient and limit the customer in his rights of using media. Once you have purchased and downloaded a film at our site, you can watch it as often as you like and also make safety copies.
Instead of mistrusting you and make it hard for you to watch the film, we focus on transparency and process fairness. And we pass on the savings we gain through usage of state-of-the-art technology and waiving of carrier media and distributors to our customers.
The price you are asked to pay is set by the owner of the film, not by us at onlinefilm. We collect the payment you make and share the money that is paid for the film in the following manner: After the deduction of VAT (if any) 51% go to the makers of the film and 49% we keep for the structure that makes it possible for you to get at them, namely Onlinefilm and its partners.
Due to the transparency and fairness of the process we made the experience, that the prices are accepted by the users and many films are downloaded every day.
We name this principle, based on understanding, trust and process fairness rather than threat, „Digital Rights Fair Trade“ (DRFT).
