Synopsis
- Walter Braunfels' SCENES FROM THE LIFE OF ST JOAN provides us with a set of eight musical images. He uses these individual miniatures to shine a spotlight on the stations of Jeanne's life, on the oppressive despair caused by English occupation, on her undaunted hopes for redemption and on people's faith in the Maid as God's redeemer against all odds.
